Using Search Module Invokes 404 Errors 1 Month ago
|
|
This is not the case for all my articles, but I would assume it is for most of them.
I will visit www.parentworld.com/education/preschool/...l/prep-for-preschool and upon using the Joomla core search module (the upper right of the page) to search up "toddlers", for instance, I am immediately redirected to www.parentworld.com/educationpreschool where a 404 error awaits me.
My site also uses JomSocial and Kunena. When looking at any Kunena page, using the search module sends the user back to the JomSocial homepage. I suspect there may be other issues among other components, but for the most part I'm just getting the first problem with the 404 error.
Anyone know a way to fix this?

bump
Is this not a common error? This is happening in my articles and my search module, both of which use Joomla core!

Have you done any change or disabled the Search extension for AceSEF?
It works fine when I try to search for another thing like "preschool" or "toddlers" from homepage:
www.parentworld.com/index.php?searchword...mp;option=com_search

Right, it was disabled. You can tell by the URL you posted. And it will work from the homepage, I assume because you're not searching from a URL that's been generated by AceSEF.
To replicate the issue, go here ( www.parentworld.com/ages-and-stages/maternity ) and try the search.
Sometimes it will even relocate you to other parts of the site. It's very bizarre, and yet Content is core, so there must be a way to fix it.

I have one or two modules cached, but no overall site cacheing, gzipping, or optimization.
Versions:
Joomla 1.5.20
AceSEF 1.5.10
PHP 5.2.9
MySQL Client API 5.0.91
