My recent post got moved to 'Solved' but even though I have applied the fix (Create the SEF URL of homepage manually) I still have a problem that when I click on the UK flag then click Home then the site flips over to the French version. www.joomace.net/support/forums?func=view...0&id=16204#16204

To restate the problem

From browsing the forum it seems that AceSEF often has problems with sites using Joomfish for multi-language support. The new site we are developing works perfectly with Joomfish switching languages correctly However as soon as I switch on AceSEF (& disable jfrouter) the default language when entering the site becomes French. I can switch back to English by clicking the UK flag but then when I click on Home it switches back to French again.

If in the Joomfish section of the AceSEF configration I set Main language to English then all works OK until using French when clicking on Home (Accueil in French) then it flips to English. Setting Main language as None sets the whole site as French when clicking on Home.

www.chrismagold.com is the version of the site without AceSEF which changes languages correctly.

BTW I did not use the fix of editing mod_mainmenu because it is a really bad idea to start editing Joomla core files to fix a bug in the way that extensions work as any Joomla upgrade my 'un-fix' your fix by overwriting your modified version with a new version.

You should apply the mod_mainmenu fix, that is the only fix for the JoomFish issue, the #a option of documentation's article is valid only if there is no homepage link created:

Surely this must be an AceSEF issue? The site works correctly with Joomfish & core Joomla SEF alone it is only when I use AceSEF that the problem is seen. I have other sites using Joonfish & SH404SEF & don't have this problem.

I really don't want to edit core Joomla files & you cannot seriously propose this as a solution for a bug in AceSEF.

Please I have offered you admin access. Please look at this & do whatever needs to be done to fix your problem with AceSEF.

Against my better judgment I tried the fix by editing helper.php The problem remains the same.

This is not a Joomfish issue. The site without AceSEF works correctly. It is only when AceSEF is installed & configured that this problem appears & it is there whether I use the mod_mainmenu fix or create the SEF URL of homepage manually. Incidentally the support page that you linked to says "This happens if you've assigned any component other than Content (Articles) as "Default" menu item." My Home page is set to the standard Front Page Blog Layout displaying Articles that have been set as Front Page Articles in a blog format.

I checked your website and when I tried AceSEF and Joomla SEF turn-off your joomfish doesn't work also Joomfish has a new version. Please upgrade the latest version for joomfish and try again.

Joomfish 2.1.5 is the latest version. This site does now have a hacked version of helper.php in mod_mainmenu so maybe that is why it is now broken. With Joomfish & Joomlart core SEF the site works correctly.

Can I pay to upgrade to VIP subscription? I need this problem fixed really urgently or I will have to abandon using AceSEF because of this bug.

I re-check your website and added a modul in the left modul. As you will see, when you click homepage everthing works on mainmenu modul but if you click top menu, homepage doesn't work. So you should contact your template developer also this is not an AceSEF bug.

This is definitely a AceSEF bug!!!

I have disabled AceSEF & re-enabled the Joomfish jfrouter system plugin. Now the site works correctly. If I re-enable AceSEF & disable jfrouter then the home page problem returns. I have replaced the modified helper.php with the correct one from the Joomla distribution.

It's very easy to demonstrate the problem in three clicks. Click on the French flag & the French version of the site is displayed with HOME replaced with ACCUEIL. Now click on the UK flag & the English version appears but click on HOME & & the French version of the site is displayed with ACCUEIL.

If you disable AceSEF & re-enable the jfrouter system plugin then the above problem is not seen.

Please, please, please fix this for me. I have paid for AceSEF but it is no use to me while it exhibits this behaviour.

I'm not going to argue with you if it's an AceSEF bug or not because your approach is trial-and-error and mine is with technical knowledge but it's definitely NOT an AceSEF bug.
The posts on our and joomfish forums which says that it's fixed after modifying mod_mainmenu does also confirm this.
